Install Bench and Scan on your phone
Add Bench or Scan to your home screen so they open like any other app - no app store needed.
Bench and Scan are web apps that can be installed on your phone, tablet or computer. Once installed they get their own icon and open full screen, just like an app from an app store.
Android and desktop Chrome or Edge
- Open bench.tinkari.com or scan.tinkari.com and sign in.
- If you see an install prompt in the app, tap Install. Otherwise open the browser menu and choose Install app (or Add to Home screen).
- Open the new icon from your home screen or app list.
iPhone and iPad (Safari)
- Open the app in Safari and sign in.
- Tap the Share icon.
- Tap Add to Home Screen.
Apple does not let a web page trigger this itself, so the app shows a short reminder of these steps instead.
Good to know
- Dismissing the prompt. If you tap Not now, the install prompt goes away. In Bench the choice follows your account across devices; in Scan it applies to that device only.
- Scan needs a camera. Allow camera access when asked, or Scan cannot read QR codes.
- You need to be online. Both apps work with live data, so a connection is required. Scan shows a banner whenever you lose connection.
